Piano lessons in Paris and Val-de-Marne
A demanding, attentive approach adapted to each stage of your musical journey.

From first notes to advanced work.
Kei Shimizu teaches all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced pianists. Lessons take place in Paris and Val-de-Marne, with the option of studying at her home in Chevilly-Larue.
Every lesson is built around your pace, goals and musical sensitivity. Classical repertoire provides its guiding thread: it gradually develops movement, reading, sound, listening and musical structure, from Bach and Schumann to Chopin, Debussy, Ravel and Fauré.
Animation and video-game music can also be a starting point or a personal goal. These worlds fit naturally into a solid course of study; they do not replace the fundamental work of classical piano.
Technique, expression and confidence.
Rooted in a Japanese teaching tradition, Kei’s approach combines precision of movement, active listening and personal expression. The great works of the piano repertoire support every stage of that development.

Choosing piano lessons in Paris
Musical tuition built around your level, pace and goals.
Who are the piano lessons for?
Lessons are open to children, teenagers and adults, from their first notes at the piano to advanced study. Kei adapts the starting point and content to each student’s experience.
Where do piano lessons take place?
Lessons are offered in Paris and Val-de-Marne, including at Kei’s home in Chevilly-Larue. Please mention your location when you get in touch so that the most suitable setting can be discussed.
Can I start piano with no musical experience?
Yes. Lessons can begin with the essentials: posture, discovering the keyboard, rhythm, listening and first steps in reading music. Sound and the pleasure of playing are part of the work from the outset; learning moves forward step by step, with careful attention to the foundations.
Are lessons suitable for advanced pianists?
Yes. More experienced pianists can deepen technique, sound, nuance, sight-reading, repertoire work and preparation for an exam or performance. Goals are agreed together with the student.
Is classical repertoire at the heart of the lessons?
Yes. Classical music provides the foundations of piano playing: posture, reading, rhythm, sound, articulation, pedalling and musical structure. According to level, the work can explore Bach, Schumann, Chopin, Debussy, Ravel, Fauré and many others, with pieces chosen to develop each student with rigour and enjoyment.
Can I learn piano through animation music?
Yes. Animation music can be an excellent starting point or a motivating goal. It is approached with the same care for reading, rhythm, melody, harmony, pedalling and expression as classical repertoire.
Can I learn video-game music on the piano?
Yes. Video-game music can support a path for a beginner or an advanced pianist. It fits into progressive work in which classical repertoire remains the technical and musical foundation.
Do lessons include theory and music reading?
Reading, rhythm, listening and musical understanding are part of piano study. They are introduced gradually at the keyboard and directly connected to the pieces being learned.
How often are lessons held and how long are they?
The frequency and duration of lessons are agreed according to your age, level, availability and goals. After speaking with you, Kei will suggest a format that suits you.
